We live in a culture that believes that bad things are caused by evil spirits. Our medical doctors, in particular, believe this. They just use different words, such as "malignancy," "genetic predisposition," "toxin," and "viruses."
However, this belief system came about through a combination of ignorance and the profit motive - and certainly not through the process of scientific analysis. After all, science is a process of determining what is... not a process of marketing and propaganda. The truth - obvious to the open-minded, and also revealed by scientific process - is that our minds and bodies are not mechanical blobs to which bad things happen. We are each part of an exquisitely-complex energy system called "the natural world" which operates through a series of natural (and therefore unbreakable) laws.
Mechanism of Coordination
The brain communicates with the body through DNA. So, if there is breast cancer in the body, a change in the DNA can be observed that is specific to breast cancer victims. Sometimes whole chromosomes are changed based on this big pattern.
Every cell in the body will be affected by the change in DNA resulting from every biological experience that is relayed through the mind-brain-body instrument. The only way that the human mind-brain-body, with its trillions of cells, can tightly coordinate activities around the entire complex organism, is by having little mini-brains in each cell to instruct each cell of the instructions from the larger system. This occurs "energetically," by acting through the one function that is identical in every cell of your body: your DNA coding. To change the system, every element in the system receives the same instructions. Therefore, if you have a program in your brain that says "gluten is bad for the cells of my digestive tract," every cell in your body contains that program.
Incidentally, this is why allergy tests on your blood reveal accurately those substances to which you have sensitivities. You were not born with these sensitivities; they occurred following your experiences with certain substances. (Newborn babies who need heart transplants can receive a donor heart of the wrong blood type, because the newborn's brain and cells have not yet formed an "opinion" about self vs. other).
Your DNA was shaped by the experiences of your ancestors (back to the primordial sea), and continues to be shaped by the experiences you have each and every moment. The experiences occur in your mind, relay instantly to the appropriate brain area, which instantly directs a body response by sending a signal to every cell in the body, including your blood cells, which, even if extracted from your body, will still react to triggers of your previous experience.
Your Temple-Mates
Much of the human genome is considered "junk" DNA, not specifically coding for our own unique personality, physical features, or other "human-ness." Instead, this so-called "junk" DNA actually codes for other species, including our cellular mitochondria. It also codes for the microbes that are involved in the healing phase of many kinds of diseases.
Only microbes that take part in our DNA inheritance participate in experience-related illnesses. Microbes that are not part of our genetic coding act instead as parasites.
There's Meaning in Everything
Except for parasite infestations (which are dependent on overall health), malnutrition (requirements change based on metabolic changes during dis-ease processes), and outright injury (karmically related to the brain trying to resolve the big pattern on a larger time scale), all dis-eases are a result of either the active phase or healing phase of an unanticipated life experience. This includes everything from the common cold to lung cancer to schizophrenia.
So How do I Get Better?
The key to efficient and complete healing lies in knowing the biological meaning behind the dis-ease as it relates to the conflict (the unanticipated event) that was experienced. These correlations have been broadly mapped out. Therapy from this perspective is based on this knowledge, coupled with a genuine willingness to truly get to the bottom of the experience you are having in your life to find real resolution. The essential point is to bridge the gap between reality and what we consciously perceive. Then the healing symptoms must be managed to minimize discomfort.
Conventional medical techniques using drugs and surgery are better seen as last-resort techniques, not first-approach techniques. Strong drugs, radiation, chemotherapy and surgery should be reserved for very special circumstances and should be used minimally.
Everything Fits the Big Pattern
Except for therapy to help you get in touch with reality and consciously resolve your problem, all other therapies, chemical or otherwise, accentuate (or cause) either active/cool phase symptoms or resting/warm phase symptoms. The decision to use these therapies must be based on whether your mind-brain-body is seeking reduction in active or healing phase symptoms.
For example, steroids have a "cooling" effect on the system, and are not appropriate for use during the conflict-active (cool) phase of a dis-ease process, because they would exaggerate cool symptoms. However, steroids, if used wisely, can lessen the discomforts of the healing (warm) phase of the same dis-ease. Opiates, on the other hand, simulate a healing or warming effect. These substances certainly take the edge off of active-phase dis-ease symptoms (such as worrying continuously about a problem, or not being able to sleep). But once someone's system naturally moves into the warm, healing phase of the process (by resolving her experience), the very same dose of opiates that she has been taking all along can suddenly add to the natural swellings and other healing symptoms, and suddenly it's an overdose.
